Welcome to Kalangadoo Primary School

Kalangadoo Primary School
Kalangadoo Primary School is a small primary school that provides quality teaching and learning within a caring and safe environment. We are currently a two class school of 21 students which allows for strong connections between our students, parents, staff and wider community. Our core values of Respect, Courage and Excellence are embedded within our school.

We are fortunate to have extensive facilities and grounds for our students to explore and learn from. We have our own Wetland, which fills with water in winter as well as a large gymnasium, playground, large play ovals, well-resourced library and spacious classrooms. Technology upgrades have been a recent focus for the school with new Interactive Whiteboards installed in late 2016 as well as upgrades to our WiFi Network, laptops and iPads. Our library is also used as a Community Library on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings servicing our local community.

Here at Kalangadoo we pride ourselves on giving all students a strong transition from Kindergarten to Primary School and from Primary School to High School. Our local high school is Penola High School and our local Kindergarten is Kalangadoo Kindergarten, which is situated on site. Kindergarten and Primary School students regularly work together throughout the year before beginning formal transition in Term 4. Similarly our students from Year 3-7 visit Penola High School a number of times during the year before the Year 7s begin their formal transition to High School in Term 4.

We offer one-to-one intervention for our students in mathematics with a focus on number as well as literacy interventions in reading and speech. Our students take part in weekly Japanese lessons through online video conferencing. Students also participate in the First Lego League Competition and various nature based programs such as the Red-Tailed Black Cockatoo program.

Please don't hesitate to visit or contact the school if you are considering Kalangadoo Primary School for your child.
